SOUTH CANBERRA NETBALL ASSOCIATION NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING TUESDAY, 27 OCTOBER 2026 from 5:30 PM Location: SCNA Clubhouse, Makin Place, Deakin Please note: This AGM will propose a special resolution that the South Canberra Netball Association’s financial year end on 30 September each year, instead of the current 30 June date. In accordance with the Constitution of South Canberra Netball Association, the Annual General Meeting will be held on 27 October 2026 with the following agenda: 1. Attendance and apologies 2. Confirm minutes of 2025 annual general meeting 3. Receive executive reports from the President and Treasurer and receive the statement of accounts and reports 4. Propose Special Resolution that the South Canberra Netball Association’s financial year end on 30 September each year, instead of the current 30 June date. See attached for details. 5. Elect members of the Executive Committee: a. President b. Vice President c. Secretary d. Treasurer e. General Member(s) 6. Vote for any Life Member(s). 7. Other business. Team registrations are now open! Twilight comp will run for 9 weeks from the 12th of October to the 9th of December at the SCNA courts. Fees this year are $100 a person, plus an additional $25 for mixed players to cover the cost of umpires. As we have done in previous years we will be providing a $50 subsidy for new players to help cover their NACT fees, and players playing in more than one team. South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA) are excited to announce trials for the upcoming 2027 Junior Representative season. SCNA's Junior Rep season normally involves training once to twice a week from February through to end of June with 5/6 all day carnivals throughout the season both in Canberra and away. To be eligible for an age group, players must turn the outlined age by 31 December in the year of play. Players must be registered with a club or school team at SCNA for the winter competition in 2026 and 2027. Players who are new to SCNA must register and play with a club or school team at SCNA for the 2027 winter competition unless an exemption is requested and approved. In 2027, SCNA is seeking to put together two male only teams (U14s and u17s) with the aim to take these teams to 2-3 carnivals (depending on proximity and availability) during the season and also NSW Junior or Senior State Titles. These teams will have dedicated coaches and will undertake weekly training on Thursday nights. Male players in these teams do not need to play Saturday netball at SCNA. Who can trial? Experienced netball players born in the following years: Under 11s born 2016 and 2017 - mixed (girls and boys) Under 12s born 2015 - mixed (girls and boys) Under 13s born 2014 - female only Under 14s born 2013 - female only Under 15s born 2012 - female only Under 14s born 2013 and 2014 – male only Under 17 born 2010, 2011 and 2012 – male only Details of trial dates are as follows: Sunday 8 November 2026 U11 mixed from 9-11am U12 mixed from 10.30am-12.30pm U13 female and U14 male from 1pm-3pm U14/U15 female and U17 male from 2.30-4.30pm Thursday 12 November 2026 U11 & U12 mixed from 5-7pm U13, U14, U15 female and U14, U17 male from 6.30-8.30pm There may be an additional trial on Sunday 15 November 2026 for selected athletes, if required. It will particularly cater for players who are interested in playing or are already playing in the Junior Representative teams. Players will need to be proficient in the basic skills of netball. Nominations are now open for Umpire, Junior Coach and Junior and Senior Volunteer of the Year. Nominations close Wednesday 26 August and award winners will be announced on Saturday 29 August. Junior or Senior Volunteer of the Year- Volunteer of the Year Recognise a young volunteer who generously gives their time and makes a positive contribution to SCNA or help us thank an outstanding volunteer whose dedication, generosity and hard work helps keep our Association and competitions running. Umpire of the Year - Umpire of the Year Recognise an umpire who demonstrates fairness, confidence, commitment and a positive contribution to our netball community. Junior Coach of the Year (under 18) - Junior Coach of the Year Celebrate one of our young coaches who inspires, encourages and supports their players while helping them develop their skills and love of netball.

We have opened up registrations for our Woolworths NetSetGo programs for 2026. The winter programs start 2nd May 2026 and end 29th August 2026 NetSetGo NET - is for 5–6-year-olds (kindy and year 1). This is a skills based program run by SCNA.
