    Every year SCNA participates in the ACT State League Championships. This Championship runs competitions for open Women's Division 1 and 2, under 19 women, under 17 women and open men. Our Program is well-organised, supported and focused giving our players the opportunity to train, develop and compete in a crucial part of the Netball ACT Pathway. We are seeking energetic netball enthusiasts to support our Program as coaches for 2024.   • Junior Representative Trials

    Dear 2023 SCNA Junior Representative players and families, We are excited to announce the upcoming 2024 SCNA rep trials for U11 – U15 players. This is an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their talents and potentially secure a position in the squad. Please follow the link for register your player/s https://forms.gle/pjXRAKTuXJPwK6d37 Trial dates will be: Sunday, 26th November 2023 – U11 and U12 from 9am-11am U13, U14 and U15 from 10am- 12pm Thursday 30th November 2023 – U11 and U12 from 5pm – 6.30pm U13, U14 and U15 from 6pm – 7.30pm Venue – South Canberra Netball Association, Makin Place, Deakin Registrations for rep trials will close on Thursday 23 November. No late registrations will be accepted. The trials will consist of drills, exercises and match play to assess the players abilities, attitude, teamwork, game understanding and fitness. What to bring to the trials: Please wear suitable sporting clothing for the conditions including appropriate footwear. Please no representative attire please. Water Bottles: It is essential to stay hydrated throughout the trials Towel: You may want to bring a towel if the weather is hot to allow you to wipe off sweat during breaks. Important information Arrival time: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before start time to complete registration Medical Conditions: If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries that may affect your involvement in the trials, please inform the selectors and coordinators as soon as possible. We encourage all our amazing players present and future to seize this opportunity and join us for a fun and rewarding 2024 season. Also please let any of your high performing friends who may not have played rep before to consider trying out. We understand there may be other sporting activities running at the same time as trials. We have tried to combat this by having trials on two different days and times. We would appreciate prospective players attending at least one of the trial sessions.     Nominations for 2024 Senior State League are now open. Exact times to be confirmed): 28th November 2023 from 7:30pm - Under 17 and 19 and Men's Open 3rd December 2023 from 2:30pm - Under 17 and 19 followed by Women's Opens 5th December 2023 from 7:30pm - Women's Opens and Men's Open Please trial in your age group. Players from Under 17s and 19s may be selected for Women's Open divisions. State League Key Dates: (these are subject to change) Squads will be announced in December 2023 following trials. Fitness training will begin on 8th January 2024. (Not compulsory but players will be expected to be fit) Match play 30th January & 6th February 2024 (Compulsory) Training from 13th February 2024. Competition season commences in the week of 11th March 2024 Men and Women's Div 1 & 2 will play Friday evenings. Day and Time for under 17s and 19s to be confirmed by Netball ACT. The season runs for 15 games (3 rounds). Grand final to be held either on 28th July 2024 or 4th August 2024.     South Canberra Netball Association are offering a 3 week program aimed at players looking to extend their netball skills. It will particularly cater to players who are interested in playing or are already playing in the Junior Representative teams for South Canberra. Where: South Canberra Netball Courts, Makin Place, Deakin When: 9 Nov, 16 Nov, and 23 Nov 2023 Time: Thursday 5:30pm - 7pm Cost: $60 per player Who: Players born between 2009-2014 inclusive.
